- Twist or push to release. Most are quarter-turn. Some push-in types release with a button. Have a cloth ready for the small spill.
- Fit the new filter. Align, insert and turn until it seats firmly. Do not force it past the stop.
- Flush four litres through. Run and discard water until it stops sputtering and runs clear. This purges carbon fines and trapped air.
- Reset the indicator light. Usually a press and hold on the filter reset button for a few seconds.
- Discard the first two batches of ice. They will carry residual carbon dust.
